International Summer Festival Kampnagel 2026

In collaboration with the Kampnagel International Summer Festival, the Hamburger Kunsthalle is presenting a performance program by Saâdane Afif / Augustin Maurs and Xavier Le Roy at the Kunsthalle. In addition, Nan Goldin’s »The Ballad of Sexual Dependency« (1992), from the Hamburger Kunsthalle’s collection, will be shown in the foyer for the duration of the summer festival. Tickets can be purchased at the Kampnagel ticket shop.

Nan Goldin: The Ballad of Sexual Deoendency, 1992

This legendary visual diary by the American artist Nan Goldin (b. 1953), from the collection of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, captures the life and death of an entire generation – presented as a 45-minute slide show featuring 694 35mm slides, accompanied by a soundtrack ranging from Maria Callas to The Velvet Underground.
